We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative functions. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional patient service and phone etiquette
- Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurate
- Handle multi-line phone systems efficiently, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when needed
- Maintain and organize medical records using EHR systems
- Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and care plans
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes
- Support clinic operations by filing paperwork, managing office supplies, and performing clerical tasks such as typing reports and updating patient information
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with clinic
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management practices
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with discretion and professionalism
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks
- Strong communication skills paired with friendly phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Previous experience with insurance verification, medical billing, or medical collection processes is highly desirable
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
