Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all agency marketing, communications, public awareness, branding, and engagement efforts for Meals on Wheels Collin County (MOWCC). This position ensures the organization maintains a strong, positive public presence while increasing awareness of senior services, volunteer engagement, donor support, fundraising initiatives, and community partnerships.

The Marketing & Communications Manager oversees social media, website management, online giving platforms, public relations, fundraising promotions, community outreach, and communication integrity to ensure consistent, mission-driven messaging that reflects the agency’s values and impact.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing, Branding & Public Awareness

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans that increase public awareness of MOWCC services, programs, and impact.
  • Create and execute campaigns to promote senior services, volunteerism, donor engagement, special events, fundraising initiatives, and agency awareness.
  • Strengthen and maintain organizational branding and ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms.
  • Develop compelling stories and messaging that highlight client impact, organizational outcomes, and community needs.

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Manage and implement all agency social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, audience engagement, and analytics.
  • Create engaging and mission-driven content including graphics, photos, videos, interviews, testimonials, and storytelling.
  • Monitor online engagement and maintain communication integrity by responding professionally to comments, reviews, and feedback regarding agency services.
  • Monitor internet presence and reputation management to ensure quality feedback and positive representation of MOWCC.

Website & Online Giving Platform Oversight

  • Maintain oversight and content management of the MOWCC website to ensure accuracy, timeliness, branding consistency, and user accessibility.
  • Manage and monitor the agency’s online giving platform to support donor engagement, fundraising efforts, and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to improve website functionality and donor experience.

Communications & Publications

  • Create, design, and distribute monthly newsletters for clients, donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Develop and distribute agency press releases, media announcements, and public communication materials.
  • Coordinate the development and publication of the Annual Community Report highlighting agency impact, financial stewardship, donor recognition, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure all communications reflect organizational professionalism, accuracy, and mission alignment.

Community Engagement & Public Relations

  • Create awareness of agency services through community engagement, outreach initiatives, speaking opportunities, and partnerships.
  • Conduct interviews and collect client, donor, volunteer, and stakeholder testimonials to support storytelling and organizational impact.
  • Develop positive relationships with media outlets, community organizations, sponsors, donors, and partners.
  • Represent MOWCC at community meetings, special events, donor functions, and fundraising opportunities.

Special Events & Fundraising Promotions

  • Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts for agency special events, fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, and awareness initiatives.
  • Create event marketing materials, digital campaigns, media outreach, and promotional strategies to increase participation and visibility.
  • Attend and provide presentations at fundraising events, community forums, donor meetings, and public engagements.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts through meaningful communication and recognition initiatives.

Presentation Development

  • Develop professional agency presentations for donors, community partners, funders, civic organizations, churches, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations, talking points, and visual materials for Executive Leadership and organizational representatives.
  • Ensure presentations accurately reflect MOWCC’s mission, outcomes, programs, and funding priorities.

Administrative & Project Management

  • Maintain marketing calendars, communication schedules, and campaign deadlines.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, printed materials, and promotional inventory.
  • Track marketing performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve outreach and engagement.
  • Manage multiple communication projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, or similar field and/or 5 years experience (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit engagement, fundraising promotion, or public relations preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations, senior services, healthcare, or community-based programs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, websites, and digital communication strategies.
  • Experience with online giving platforms, donor communications, and fundraising promotion.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office,AI Technology, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social media scheduling tools, and website management platforms.
  • Ability to professionally manage public feedback, online reputation, and communication integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment

This position requires occasional evening and weekend attendance for fundraising events, community engagement, volunteer recognition, and public presentations.

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
