General Labor/Helper

A busy metal fabrication shop is seeking a dependable General Laborer / Shop Helper to support daily production, material handling, and shop operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is safety-minded, reliable, and comfortable working in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders, fabricators, machinists, and shop personnel with daily production needs
• Load, unload, move, and organize steel, aluminum, and fabricated materials
• Use basic hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, and measuring tools
• Grind, deburr, clean, and prepare metal parts for welding, painting, or shipment
• Assist with cutting, drilling, material staging, and general fabrication support
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
• Sweep, remove scrap, maintain tools, and help with shop cleanup
• Package, label, and prepare completed parts or materials for delivery/pickup
• Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or industrial setting preferred
• Comfortable working around metal, machinery, noise, dust, and changing shop conditions
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet throughout the shift
• Experience using hand tools, grinders, drills, tape measures, or other basic shop tools is a plus
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions
• Strong attention to safety and willingness to learn
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
