Electrical EngineerJoin GE Vernova's Grid System Integration (GSI) Research and Innovation team as an Electrical Engineer focused on next-generation power conversion technologies. You will design, build, and validate advanced power electronics hardware, contributing directly to grid modernization solutions deployed globally. This hands-on R&D role offers the opportunity to innovate across the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept and simulation through prototyping and validation, within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering organization.In this role, you will:Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, specialists, and technicians to advance power conversion technologyDesign, simulate, and test power converter hardware using state-of-the-art engineering tools and methodologiesBuild and operate test setups for component validation and prototype demonstrationDevelop test plans and procedures for hardware performance validationProcure and maintain laboratory test equipmentPartner with cross-functional teams across GE Vernova's Electrification Segment to align R&D efforts with product strategyCommunicate project status and technical findings to internal and external stakeholdersEngage with commercial, industrial, academic, and government partners to advance collaborative R&D initiativesTravel to GE Vernova and customer facilities as neededOn-site position based in Niskayuna, New York. We will not sponsor candidates for Visa for this role now or in the future.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 relevant industry experience (we will consider candidates with an Associate degree and 9 years of related experience).5+ years of experience designing power electronics hardwareMust be 18 years or olderPreferred Qualifications:Experience with 3D CAD modeling toolsBackground in R&D and product development environmentsExperience in manufacturing, testing, and certification of electrical hardwareProficiency with single-line diagrams and 3D CAD toolsProficiency with simulation tools (e.g., PSpice, LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS)Knowledge of electrical safety standards, including PPE requirements and basic lifesaving rulesStrong presentation, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detailProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredAdaptable and collaborative in a fast-paced global team environmentAbout Us:Come bring your energy to change the world! The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
