We’re seeking an engineering leader to drive operational excellence in our data center environments at Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited. In this role, you will be at the forefront of maintaining mission‐critical infrastructure and managing complex technical challenges. Your day will blend strategic planning, hands-on technical oversight, and team leadership as you guide shift technicians, contractors, and vendors in a fast‐paced, innovative setting. You’ll join AWS Infrastructure Services—a team responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating AWS’s global infrastructure—and work within a diverse and inclusive culture that values bold ideas and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead shift technicians, contractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality operational standards.
Oversee multiple data center availability zones by implementing strategic infrastructure management.
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans that enhance facility efficiency and performance.
Operate and manage critical systems including power distribution, generators, cooling infrastructure, and monitoring systems.
Support facility expansion and infrastructure development projects.
Required Qualifications
Experience in people management and team development.
Experience in engineering work, managing large-scale services.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
Experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
