Creative Strategist, AppLovin (E-Commerce)
Auto Import- Fully remote
- Any time zone
- Freelance/part-time to start, growing with account load
- Strong English required
Client growth has been accelerating, and we're expanding the creative side to be ready for the clients ahead. You'll start with a few accounts to get a feel for how we operate - depending on workload and fit, you'll either go deep on our biggest accounts or cover creative strategy across the portfolio.
The Role
You own creative strategy for AppLovin accounts - and only AppLovin. No Meta, no TikTok deliverables. Your job: figure out what's winning, understand why, and turn that into the next round of creatives that scale. What you'll own:
-
Performance analysis
- Dig into live accounts, identify the best-performing creatives, and articulate why they win: hooks, angles, formats, personas
-
Iteration strategy
- Turn winner analysis into concrete iteration ideas: new hooks on proven angles, restructured concepts, next tests worth running
-
Creative briefings
- Write clear, production-ready briefs for editors and production partners - reference creatives, hook variations, structure, captions
-
AppLovin-native thinking
- Strategy across the formats that matter on this channel: 9:16 video, statics, interactives/playables, and endcards (which work like a product page and get optimized like one)
-
Communication
- Tight loop with our media buyers, the founder, editors and client teams: what's being tested, what's working, what's next
-
Cross-category e-commerce creative insight
- You've worked across several e-com verticals (beauty, supplements, pets, apparel, home) and can read what makes an ad convert in each. You're not a one-niche specialist. If one-niche, then you should be an A-Player of well-known brands.
-
Analysis-first approach
- Your iteration ideas come from performance data and winner breakdowns, not from taste alone
-
Briefing quality
- You can hand a brief to an editor and get back what you intended, without three rounds of clarification
-
Strong professional English
- All briefs, analysis, and client communication run in English
-
Self-directed
- You get accounts, data access, and context. You drive the creative roadmap from there.
-
AppLovin creative experience
- This is the single biggest plus. You've built or directed creatives that ran on AppLovin and you know how the channel behaves differently from Meta. Best case: you've done it across several e-commerce brands.
-
AppLovin gaming/app creative experience
- Also valuable. You understand the ad environment, the formats, and what holds attention in a gaming context - the e-com layer can be learned.
-
AI content creation skills
- You can produce AI-generated video and content yourself using tools like ElevenLabs, AI video generators, and image models - best case, the editor only needs to combine your assets into the final cut.
- Hands-on production skills (editing, statics, endcard building) - not required, but strategists who can prototype their own ideas move faster
- Experience working directly with media buyers in a performance feedback loop
- The chance to shape creative for some of the biggest and fastest-scaling DTC brands in e-commerce right now
- Case studies you build for your own track record - creative-driven scaling stories you can point to for the rest of your career
- A channel where your work is the main lever - on AppLovin, creative wins or loses the account, so your impact is directly visible in the numbers
- An AI-first way of working - Claude is part of our daily workflow for analysis, briefing, and creative breakdowns
- Direct line to the founder and media buyers, fast decisions, zero agency bureaucracy
